Personal injuries, and sometimes death, can many times be at the hands of faulty and defective products. In such cases, a specific set of laws can place responsibility on those who are part of the design and making, and selling of the products. Product liability law sets an expectation that products are designed and manufactured to be safe for every consumer. When the product is not safe and causes injury or death, the product liability law allows for the victim or survivors of the victim to retrieve compensation for such damages, including loss of income, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and other areas. Those held accountable for the unsafe and faulty product may include:
the seller, distributor or store that sold the product
the wholesaler
the manufacturer
the manufacturer of components
the designers
the inspectors
