Oil explosions

Oil explosions are the most common injury as it relates to the oil field industry, primarily because of the vastness of size that can kill and injure multiple workers at any given time. Thousands of oil field employees have both died and suffered injuries in the United States while extracting oil and gas. In some parts of the US, specifically Texas and New Mexico, oil field production has increased significantly. This naturally exposes more employees to more dangerous working environments.

The explosions in the oil industry are huge because one explosion may have a domino effect immediately. Oil field employees may suffer injuries when oil companies are at fault for the following:

  • Not following standard safety regulations and procedures

  • Not properly training employees on safety

  • Not replacing faulty equipment or tools

  • Not fixing cracks in pipes, lines, and storage units

  • Not adequately storing hazardous material

  • Not providing the correct PPE such as helmets, goggles, and protective suits

  • Not providing fire safety equipment and gear
